Be a Woman of Wisdom Breathe Ministry

Be a Woman of Wisdom

To be a woman of wisdom can at times be difficult. Especially when some days you cannot even read a text message. A while ago, I was scrolling through my Facebook wall and came across an article that gave parents the edge on texting slang. I was amazed at some of the combinations used to make complete thoughts.

See if you can figure out the terms below:
  1. BRB
  2. BFN
  3. FYEO
  4. NAGI
  5. SWYP

When my husband and I served in youth ministry, I can tell you that many of these were new to me.   I found myself thinking how I really needed to be wiser when it came to texting, slang, or tweets.

Deep down, don’t we all want to be wise? I want to be discerning, strategic and careful about the decisions I make when it comes to what affects my family and ministry. In a way, as a mom, I feel it’s my responsibility to stay with the times, to be up-to-date with what my children are facing.

We are told in I Corinthians 3:18-19 “Do not deceive yourselves. If any of you think you are wise by the standards of this age, you should become “fools” so that you may become wise.  For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight. ”

It’s pretty clear to me when I take a step back….wisdom doesn’t come in studying things of this world. To be a woman of wisdom is knowing God better, so we can make better decisions for our families and ministries.

How can I stay in touch with my kids, my community, the people I minister to? You can stay in touch by staying in touch with the God who knows and loves them. He then will guide us to understand each situation. He will then continue to make us be a woman of Wisdom.
