Let them see you Sweat Breathe Minsitry

Let Them See You Sweat!

One of the scariest parts of ministry leadership is knowing that I am to be an example for others. I would rather that the ugly parts, the tough stuff, the mistakes, and the struggles, stay in the dark. Never let them see you sweat, right? Wrong!!! It is keeping these things hidden from view that robs God of His Glory. If we only show the good  and pretty parts, we don’t show how good God is and how He is at work in our weaknesses. We don’t show how He uses everything  in our lives. Others do not see how He can turn the darkest situation around. We don’t show how much we are just like everyone else.

Leaders are not special!

Our lives are not without struggles. It’s how we react to handle those struggles that sets leaders apart. I know that my strength comes from God. I couldn’t do anything that I do without Him. Sometimes you need to let them see you sweat! The enemy wants us to believe that we are alone in our struggles. That no one would ever understand and judgement would be swift and harsh. This keeps us silent and hidden behind suffocating masks. Here is the truth, Christ is magnified in our weakness .

“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”  2 Corinthians 12:9-10

We are to be light in the darkness.

I get to live a transparent and authentic life that points others to God. Opening your life up in this way is daunting but necessary. Shine so others may see their way to God! I can’t do this on my own. I don’t have it all together. It is only with Christ and through His Power that I can even get out of bed each day. I need to be willing to let others in, to let them see the imperfections. Then when the victories come they will know that it is Christ in me that made it happen. They will see Him, not me!
