Peace comes from Trust Breathe Ministry

Peace comes from Trust

Peace in the midst of chaos.  Oh how this topic hits home to what God is doing in my life at this moment.  I am a 4th grade teacher at an English speaking school in Santiago, Chile and for the first time since being here, both during my short term in the past and the last year and half presently, I feel unsafe when the school day is done.  Right now, this country that I have grown to love and minister in is in such chaos and so desperately in need of peace that only God can provide. So how am I finding peace in the midst of chaos? I would be lying if I said it was easy, but then finding peace is never easy but it is possible if we keep our minds focused on the one who is the Prince of Peace.  If you’re like me, your first reaction is to panic and think of all the “what ifs” before you actually get on your knees and pour your heart and concerns out to the Lord. Biblically, you and I know that getting on your knees should be the first thing we do, but it doesn’t always happen that way. However, it’s never too late to reverse that process and start off with prayer.  The “what ifs” may not even come after that. That’s the awesomeness of our God shining through. There are no “what ifs” with God because He is sovereign and everything is always planned and so beautifully executed. When we experience chaos, whether that be with your husband, in your relationships, in the classroom, or living in a foreign country that is in turmoil, we MUST focus on what we know to be true about who God is.  He is sovereign. He gives peace. He is always in control. He is all-knowing. He is powerful. I could go on and on. One verse that the Holy Spirit always reminds me of when there is chaos is Romans 8:28, but a new one He has shown me is Isaiah 26:3, “you keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because He trusts in you.” Wow! Could those words be any more encouraging? Peace will come from trust. So how you can you find peace in the midst of chaos?  Pray on your knees and from your heart. Remind yourself of who God is and cling to Isaiah 26:3 and Romans 8:28. Be encouraged woman of faith for He is able to do exceedingly more than we can ever imagine!
