Psalm 90:14-17 NIV:
“Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days. Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us, for as many years as we have seen trouble. May your deeds be shown to your servants, your splendor to their children. May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us— yes, establish the work of our hands.”
What does it mean to be satisfied with God’s love? That’s a word that the Lord has had me to chew on for the last few weeks of my life. Like verse 14 so eloquently says, “satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love,” why? So that we may “Sing for joy and be glad all our days.” We need that joy and gladness because of the many things we’ve gone through in our lives (and will go through). What does being satisfied with God’s love look like?
Ask the Lord to show you what it means to be satisfied with His love (everyone sees/receives differently). Some people experience it through the Word, some hear the Lord actually telling them “I love you my child”, some feel his love by painting a picture, some experience it by listen to a music, it is a necessary intimate moment between you and God that fills you daily. That you feel His peace flood your soul…I know I am loved so completely by my Creator.
This verse has been a theme in my heart for the last few weeks…I’ve been asking God to satisfy me every morning with His love. Allowing Him to love me & speaking my love back to him. Being still in His presence and accepting, believing and receiving his sweet love. I have noticed such a difference in my outlook of the day ahead. I’ve even began to pray before I go to sleep asking God to satisfy me with His unfailing love when I wake up. May he be first on my heart when I rise up. To stay in the place of satisfaction of His love all day…what a goal! What peace to live by that in any circumstance just to ask God to satisfy me with His perfect love in that moment.
Well known speaker/pastor Louie Giglio spoke these words about satisfaction:
“I want to invite you tonight to run with everything you’ve got into the embrace of Jesus Christ, to know that He will meet you there, to taste and see that the Lord is good, and to unite your heart to His in a love affair with the King of all creation, because here’s why… Our satisfaction and God’s glory are the same thing. Your satisfaction [means] God doing something in you that no one else can do. [It is] you getting what you need – you getting connected to God, filled, blessed, healed, restored, redeemed, alive, freed, put your own words around it… God is into you. You should be into God. And when you get into the God who’s inviting you to be into Him, you will then become satisfied in Him. Then He’ll be the thing glorified in your life.”
