Show Compassion and Kindness

Have you ever met someone that naturally just loved and sacrificed for others around them even when they received nothing in return. When it just does not seem like they will be rewarded or even noticed, they still helped others. Do you know someone that has focused on helping others during this time of fear, anger and confusion these last 6 months? Are you that person or do you wish to be that person? In The Book of Ruth” By Bianca Juarez Olthoff, we see a woman that left everything she knew. She left everything she had and a comfortable future. Why? Because she shows compassion and kindness to her mother-in-law.

The book of Ruth is a beautiful story of life – our life.

We make choices that might seem good in the beginning. Then life happens. We go through tragedy. We make hard choices. Then we struggle, we cry, we make more choices then we say “Where is God?” We see Hope. We see Compassion. Lastly we see a Redeemer. Life is a roller coaster of good, bad and the ugly.

The book of Ruth is a great study of an ordinary girl that makes multiple good choices out of her love for her widowed mother-in-law. She humbles herself to serve and take care of her not realizing the Hope in God. She does not see the whole story that will bring great joy.

This Bible study was a great bible study that I shared with a group of women on zoom during the quarantine. You can find “The Book of Ruth” by Bianca Juarez Olthoff on a streaming service called RightNow Media. RightNow Media also has many more bible studies, videos and children shows.

When life seems to be hopeless or choices do not produce what we thought they would, we know that we have hope in God. Because we have that hope, we can show compassion and kindness to those around us.

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.

Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

Colossians 3:12-14
