Staying Fueled

Runnign the Race 5.25.15

No matter where you are in ministry, whether you are just starting out or have been serving for a while, there are times that are more “draining” than others. Like seasons of life, waves of both joy and strife can come.

We’ve taken a few weeks to look over how to run the ministry race well. Knowing what our “race” looks like always helps us to train for those ups and downs throughout the course. We can build endurance by finding others that will cheer us on, checking out the weights we are unknowingly lugging around, and fixing our focus on Christ. By remembering Christ’s race, what He endured, and focusing hard on joy-filled moments, we can keep a healthy perspective as we run.

What next, though? How do we keep going when we’ve spent all we’ve got, used up the reserves, and find ourselves tapped out?

We are so use to pouring into others, our families, our responsibilities, that I believe it would be helpful for us answer these questions:

How can I replenish what I’ve lost?

What would I need to change in order to be filled?

Am I in God’s Word?

How am I being fed?

Have I recently been challenged Spiritually in a way that has left me pondering or chewing on a Biblical concept?

Romans 15:13 “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

Our God of hope WANTS to fill you with joy and peace! That sounds exactly like what I crave when I’m depleted! He promises that we will overflow with this hope! That sounds exactly like what I crave when wanting to refuel…to be filled so much that I can overflow!

We would encourage you attend our annual “A Day to Breathe” on October 3rd to learn tangible ways to fill your reserves. We hope to see you there!
