The Place Where God Reigns

Freedom in Christ comes from the incredible message that Jesus Christ himself preached – the Kingdom of God.

What does that actually mean?  That the Kingdom of God is here, it is coming, it is within our midst, and within us?  What is the Kingdom of God?

It is simply, the place where God reigns.

Where God reigns, we are heirs and co-heirs with Christ. We are His Children who have  access to His resources and inheritance. We are given a new heart and spirit, where there are no more tears, no more pain and where restoration is unavoidable.

That is what we were given access to the moment Christ died on the cross, the moment the veil tore opening the way into the Holy of Holies.  We have access to enter into the Kingdom of God, even now.  And yet, we see in part, not in wholeness.  Jesus preached that the kingdom of God is in our midst, but he also preached it is coming.

We live in the constant reality of the now and later.  Both are true.  However, we have access to the Kingdom of God, yet the world still constructs our reality.  Suffering is still a promised experience, yet now, so is blessing and joy.  Sin is still part of our nature – through in Christ we are free to listen to the Spirit!  The world around us constrains us and yet we can believe the Truth of God over the truth of our circumstances.

But, Jesus set us free. Most importantly, he set us free to begin eternity in the Kingdom now. We are free to believe and hope for the day when it will all be whole, and all will acknowledge the reign of God our King.

“nor will people say, ‘Here it is,’ or ‘There it is,’ because the kingdom of God is in your midst.” Luke 17:21

“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Mathew 6:33

We have two realities to live and experience, the world, and the Kingdom of God.

Which do we choose to encounter on a regular basis?

Amid the crisis around us, which do we believe is most true?

Which do we find ourselves putting our trust in?

It is simply, the place where God reigns.
