I believe that God is moving in ways that we never imagined. I believe He is calling us to new levels and to dig deeper in our ministries to reach women in places and ways that we never thought of before.
Look, I am about to do something new; even now it is coming. Do you not see it?
Indeed, I will make a way in the wilderness, rivers in the desert. Isaiah 43:19 CSB
Ministry this summer, much like most of this year, is going to look and feel very different. There will be new limitations, new risks to be considered, and new challenges. These limitations, risks and challenges offer a unique opportunity to be intentional and creative with the ways in which we reach our communities.
Here are a few ideas that I have used over these last few months while sheltering in place to foster connection. I have included the links to the resources that I use.
Online Bible Study
Game Night
This was so much fun. I have done this a few times, each time using a different activity.
Dinner Party
This is a great way to still gather around the table. Everyone prepares their dinner and then joins together in the virtual dining room. You can give the dinner party a theme and share recipe ideas and decorating ideas. You can use this time to foster meaningful conversations and build relationships.
Summer Book Club
Zoom Hangouts
This is a super easy way to connect. Pick a date and time and open up the Zoom Room for ladies to drop in and just hangout for some casual conversation and fun connection time. This can be accomplished on your social meeting platform of choice. It is not exclusively a Zoom activity.
A few more ideas that I have not done yet but plan to use over the next few months:
- Paint Party
- Crafting
- Online Lessons
- Talent Show
Summer is a great time to be intentional about making connections. It is a time to try new things and make new friends. It is a time to dig deep and listen for God’s direction in our lives. This summer, unlike past summers, offers a unique opportunity to exceed our limits, take a risk and rise to new challenges in ways that we never thought of before.
