Well, here we are! We have made it to November. In other words, month 9 of the weirdest year of our lives. Everyone in America has been affected. No, everyone in the world has been touched in some way from this virus and everything that mentally comes from it. Therefore, I literally can tell you, “You are not Alone in This!”
First of all, I can honestly tell you that my life in general has been good since Covid came in like “wrecking Ball”. But even I suffer from slight depression, anxiety and wondering what will happen next. Firstly, will my jobs be put on hold again. Secondly, will I be quarantined, or will my family get sick. What about my kids’ education this year. No matter how much I trust God daily or not worry, there is always that nagging voice in my head saying “O No, get ready. Here it comes again”.
But no matter what, I can thank God!
Thanksgiving is defined in the dictionary as “the expression of gratitude, especially to God”. We can still pause this week and thank God for all he has done in our lives. He… loved us, saved us, protected us, blessed us and so on.
A psalm. For giving grateful praise.
Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.
Worship the Lord with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
Know that the Lord is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his[a];
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations.
David writes through out the Psalms that he had his ups and downs. Some of those downs were really down. But David always praised God even when he was honest about what was going on in his life. Let not only read Psalm 100 today but practice it all week. It will remind each of us that “You are not Alone in This!”.
